Yes, I like the idea of fear as a scale. There’s definitely a difference between mild trepidation that we can quickly overcome versus intense anxiety that could be a huge barrier to us trying something new.
As you said, I think the important thing is to take small steps toward those things that scare us. And when we do that, we often realize that it wasn’t quite so scary and we are more capable than we imagined.
