I’m Now on Substack. Here’s How That Can Benefit You.
I’m publishing 2-3 times per week. Come check out what I’m brewing over there!
Medium has been good to me over the years, but I’m spending much more time on a different platform these days: Substack.
Several months ago, I launched my own Substack publication called Leader & Learner. Every week, I publish 2–3 articles that will help you become a more confident leader and a more curious learner.
Over 2,000 readers have subscribed to get my insights, and I’d love to have you join my community over there. Check it out and subscribe below:
Here’s how this change benefits you:
- You can now send me DMs with your specific questions. That means if you have a leadership-related question or you want a personal book recommendation about a specific topic, you can send me a direct message and we can chat about it. (I reply to every DM.)
- You can quickly and easily find my articles split out by topic. So if you only care about my leadership-related posts, you can find those by clicking on the “Leading” tab. Or if you want to see my book recs and personal development tips, click on “Learning.” (Picture below.)
- Substack also has a “Notes” feature, which operates similar to a Twitter feed. You can see my short-form thoughts, cool quotes I’ve discovered recently, etc.
- You can easily subscribe to my writing to get all of my new stories in your inbox. And if you decide you don’t want to receive a specific type of story I publish, you can unsubscribe from a specific story category.
Specifically, I share two types of stories in my Substack:
(1) 🦸♀️ Leading → Practical leadership tips for new & aspiring managers
Topics like: Giving & receiving feedback, listening, running meetings, etc.
For example, here are a few of my recent posts about Leading:
👉 The New Manager’s Guide to Performance Management
👉 7 Ways to Share Effective Feedback
👉 You’re (Probably) Giving Too Much Advice. Do This Instead.
👉 My Team Made a Million-Dollar Mistake. Here’s How We Fixed It.
(2) 👨🏫 Learning → Posts that will help you become a super-powered learner
Topics like: Reading/books, note-taking, productivity, personal values, etc.
For example, here are a few of my recent posts about Learning:
👉 The Uber-List of the Top 200 Books of All Time
👉 15 Books That Tangibly Improved My Life
👉 The 30 Best Nonfiction Books I’ve Read in the Past 10 Years
👉 The 30 Best Fiction Books I’ve Read in the Past 10 Years
👉 7 Incredible Novels You’ve (Probably) Never Heard About
I’m not leaving Medium, but I’ve definitely de-prioritized it. Why? Because I don’t think it’s the best place to connect with readers anymore.
Subscribe to my writing on Substack, then send me a DM to say hey. See you over there!
