Good question, Jamie. I think the answer to that question is different for everyone and is highly dependent upon how often you can create great content. I think a good goal for every writer is to write every day, but that doesn’t mean publishing every day.

Personally, my goal right now is to publish at least one article per week, and many of those articles are longer-form content (like 8–14 minute reads instead of 2–3 minute reads). I only have the time right now to publish 1–2 quality articles per week, and I don’t want to compromise quality just to boost that number higher.

One benchmark to consider is that many of the highest earners on Medium publish 5–8 articles per week. If you have the time to create that amount of quality content, that is a good standard to try to reach.
